On Thursday, 17th June 2010, the Mayor of London's Director for Transport Policy, Kulveer Ranger, launched a summer promotion to encourage more people to use the Thames Riverbus services.

During his speech, Kulveer praised the installation of WiFi both on the Transport For London (TfL) piers and the River Boats saying "this helps to bring us back to the forefront of passenger river transport".

He highlighted Global Reach's provision of their 'Fixed and Mobile WiFi solution', as well as the real time passenger information iPhone webapp (http://iphone.odyssys.com/), allowing access to timely riverboat information along the River Thames.

Kulveer said "Congratulations to Global Reach on creating this great, free iPhone app. It is just what we need to help Londoners find their way around the city using London's oldest thoroughfare; the Thames. We are bringing river travel into the 21st century and with information available at the touch of a button, getting around on the river has never been easier."
